BOMA Foundation donation

The OGTP team is pleased to announce that CCIS is the recipient of a $30,000.00 donation from the BOMA Calgary Foundation and FRED EDWARDS

BOMA – Building Owners and Managers Association is the industry organization for commercial building owners and management companies. Many of their members have partnered with OGTP in its design and delivery of our Building Operator/5th Class Power Engineer Program. The BOMA Calgary Foundation is the charitable arm of BOMA. Fred Edwards, a Board member of BOMA Calgary Foundation, learned of the program through his work with BOMA Calgary.  As President of Western Canada for GDI Integrated Facility Services and CEO of Servpro Canada Inc., Fred saw the value of tapping into the New Canadian talent pool to help address workforce shortages in his industry as well, and decided to fund a training seat in the 2016 program.  Further inspiration to Fred’s donation resulted from the passing of Lynn Hart and Ted Trewella in 2015, both highly regarded in Calgary’s Real Estate industry.

This $30,000.00 contribution to our program in the form of a scholarship fund will cover the cost of 2 training seats in our program. We have selected two individuals worthy of our training program who would not otherwise have qualified under our government funding guidelines.
We look forward to introducing  to CCIS our two scholarship recipients and the rest of our Building Operator/5th Class Power Engineer trainees when the training begins at the end of this month.
